Annual wellness exams are an important part of preventative care for your pet. During yearly wellness exams we get a health history and do a full physical exam to evaluate your pet. Wellness exams are important to find problems that may have gone undetected over the past year such as new growths, dental disease or subtle arthritis. Wellness exams are equally as important to discuss preventative care. Did you know that pets with healthy teeth and gums can live 2-4 years longer? Did you know that 80% of pets will suffer from arthritis at some point in their life? We want your pet to live a long and healthy life. Ideally we want to prevent diseases from occurring but if they do occur we want to diagnose them as soon as possible. Yearly wellness exams help us do just that.
Sick animal exams are needed whenever an unexpected illness or problem arises. If you feel like your pet is not acting like itself, our team is always happy to help. We will ask pertinent questions about the problem and thoroughly examine your pet. After an exam, we can then discuss recommendations and options for diagnostic testing and treatment to devise a plan of action that works best for you and your pet.
If you need a same day sick appointment,
we will accomodate you whenever possible.
Unfortunately, accidents do happen. When a medical emergency befalls our furry friends, pet parents may find it difficult to make rational decisions, That’s why it’s crucial to have an emergency plan in place.
Your dog may need emergency care because of severe trauma—caused by an accident or fall—choking, heatstroke, an insect sting, household poisoning or other life-threatening situation. Here are some signs that emergency care is needed: Pale gums; Rapid breathing; Weak or rapid pulse; Change in body temperature; Difficulty standing; Apparent paralysis; Loss of consciousness; Seizures; Excessive bleeding.
We do see emergencies during normal business hours. Please keep in mind that we are not a 24 hour facility. If a patient needs hospitalization, we will refer you to a local veterinary emergency center.
